Product Review: Kenra Blow-Dry Serum & Mist
We all dream of vibrant, flip-tastic, runway-ready hair when we look in the mirror each morning. So what’s stopping us?
Oh yeah. Time.
I don’t know about you, but I actually dread styling my own hair. The process is long, painful, and exhausting -- even for a pro like me. And that’s not to mention the irreparable heat damage we cause every time a blow dryer is so much as pointed in our direction.
Thankfully, the fashion industry has heard our prayers, and there are a few great products out there that can help your hair dry faster and style better – all the while being protected from the heat!
Here’s my two favorites:
KENRA BLOW-DRY SERUM
Kenra Blow-Dry Serum is BOMB for thick, frizzy, difficult to manage hair. The serum can reduce blow dry time by up to 50%! I don’t know about you, but that’s a huge time saver in my book. Also – no more aching arms.
This serum additionally protects hair from heat damage caused by blow dryers as well as curling irons, flat irons, and all the other crazy tools we use to make our hair do cool things. Heat damage is one of the most common causes of breakage, and when used at too high a temperature can damage the shaft, forever changing that hair’s structure. That's reason enough to invest in this product!
TO USE: Use 1-2 pumps (less is ALWAYS more until you figure out how much product your hair needs) on wet or damp hair, combing through after. Then, blow dry away. Feel free to add more product after drying to smooth ends.
THE DOWNSIDE: I’ve only ever seen this product sold in a tiny 1.7 fl oz. bottle. If you can find it in a bigger size, let a girl know.
KENRA BLOW-DRY MIST
One word can make a world of a difference.
Okay – so maybe your hair isn’t super thick and/or obnoxiously frizzy. Your environment is still your enemy – some nasty humidity will set anyone’s strands on the fritz. For that, I give you Kenra’s Blow-Dry Mist, which serves as a great catch-all for hair of any type.
This product is ideal for those with fine to medium hair, as its lightweight formula won’t weigh hair down the way Kenra’s Blow-Dry Serum might. It provides the same benefits – up to 50% less drying time, and thermal protection up to 428 °F. It’s also sold in a slightly more reasonable size: 3.4 fl oz.
TO USE: Shake well, then spray evenly on damp hair before blow drying.
THE DOWNSIDE: My ladies with very thick hair might not be too impressed with this product alone, as it may not tame your locks as well as the serum might.
If you’re intrigued by both of these products, try using them together! Personally, I like to make a cocktail out of the two. They make an AWESOME duo on hair that is product-tolerant.
Having perfect hair is hard work. But keeping these two products by Kenra in your arsenal will make the job a little easier – and much quicker.
